Groovy Guy Gifts Good To Go Cigar Case and a Contest!

Check out this cigar case I got from the folks at Groovy Guy Gifts! If you aren’t familiar with this site, it’s a great site to shop for guy related gifts that can be personalized. They don’t just have cigar related items, they also have drinkware, knives, leather goods and other dude-related stuff. I’ve been dealing with them for a few years and they’ve always been top notch. They do very nice personalization work, which, along with prompt delivery, is the service you’re paying for, really, but the products are good quality. I happen to know where most of the products come from, and have a long time relationship with the retail arm of the company that makes a lot of the stuff, so I know a little about it. You can look back at some of my past posts about Groovy Guy Gifts, and their sibling site, Groovy Groomsmen Gifts. Full disclosure, Groovy Guy Gifts provided the product for this review, but that’s all!  Continue reading

Groovy Guy Gifts, Some Miami News, and a Platinum Nova Perfecto Cigar

My friends over at Groovy Guy Gifts have, once again, increased their selection of cigar related offerings. I always applaud mainstream companies that include cigar items in their product mix. Tommy Bahama does it, and Groovy Guy Gifts does it too. I have a few items from them that they’ve personalized, which they do very well. They are
great for getting gifts, for guys…I guess that’s obvious. One of the new items they offer is the Stinky Car Ashtray. Unfortunately, this can’t be personalized, but it ships quick, tracking is provided and it’s a solid ashcan for the car. It has a solid hinge, and the spring clips to hold your cigar are gentle enough not to damage a reasonable sized vitola. This is only going to be useful in a cup holder though, as the lid throws the balance off. Continue reading

Casa Favilli and Mi Querida Cigars and Groovy Groomsmen Gifts

It was cold this week, and I had a hard time getting opportunities to have a cigar.  Last Sunday when I visited Pairings Cigar Bar in Media, PA, I picked up a couple Mombacho Casa Favilli torpedos that I spied in the humidor I was sitting next to. I didn’t even look at the price, uncharacteristic of me, I just knew I wanted to try a cigar with a broadleaf wrapper grown in Jalapa, and I knew these were not widely available. The opportunity presented itself and I had to take advantage of it. I still don’t know what they cost, and I don;t want to know, I paid my tab and felt like I got a good value for my visit after spending a nice afternoon with Bill Coyne, recording a good podcast episode, and having a nice smoke in a nice place! At any rate, I did smoke the Casa Favilli, named after the Mombacho factory in Granada, Nicaragua, which is named after the Italian architect who designed the colonial mansion in which the factory is located. visiting this factory is on my wish list, BTW. Diesel, H. Upmann, Hoyo and Enclave Cigars and Groovy Guy Gifts

If you find yourself in the market for personalized gifts, I came across a nice site for such things. Groovy Guy Gifts offers a wide variety of guy stuff that they personalize and turn around with surprising quickness. they have several cigar related goodies, and I came to possess their “Fire in the Hole” triple jet lighter this week. From order confirmation to delivery was only three days, impressive considering that it was engraved. I’m well familiar with the maker of the lighter, it’s a slim, powerful three jet lighter with a nice heft and a small flip-out punch on the bottom, far smaller than I’d be inclined to use (7mm?), but serviceable in a pinch. The engraving is crisp and clear and it’s presented well in a gift box. Groovy Guy Gifts does a nice job, has quick and reasonable shipping and is a pleasure to deal with.  Continue reading
