IPCPR 2013 – Flor de Gonzalez Cigars with Yadi Gonzalez

I’ve been sampling through the range of cigars by Flor de Gonzalez over the last few days. I have smoked a few of their mixed filler line and enjoyed them, they make a tasty Churchill and large torpedo in the $2 range. I won a 5-pack of the 90 Miles robustos a few years ago and enjoyed them quite a bit. I was introduced to Yadi Gonzalez at the IPCPR show by Antonio Lam of Reinado Cigars and got to sit down with her for a few minutes and hear about what’s new. Continue reading

Last night I smoked a Flor de Gonzales 90 Miles Robusto. I had won a 5 pack of these in a contest on the My Cigar Ashes blog. The contest was to write an article in the comments section about the pros and cons of the Cuban Embargo being lifted. Continue reading

CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of Cigar Giveaways 2013 Day 6: Two-fer Tuesday! Flor de Gonzales and Kings Cigars

I try to do one thing a little different every year, so this year I’ve decided to have a “Two-fer Tuesday”! There’s a mess of stuff under the tree today! First, from Flor de Gonzales we have a five-pack of their cigars, a T-shirt and a pen. I’ve long been a fan of the Flor de Gonzales line, and there’s one from each line represented here. The 90 Miles 1980 is particularly exceptional, but you really can’t go wrong with any of them. They are all very flavorful and perfectly constructed cigars. Even their bundle line (not represented here) is a great cigar for around $2. My thanks to Yadi Vargas for providing this fine present. Continue reading

Accessory/Website Review, Flor de Gonzales, San Lotano, KMA, Alec Bradley and Partagas

Last week I received an e-mail from CigarBargains.com about a Combo Cigar Cutter/Knife w/ Belt/Money Clip. CigarBargains.com is a site run by CheapHumidors.com which allows one to negotiate with “Suzy” and work the price down. I thought it would be a neat experiment and always kinda wanted a knife like this, knowing full well it would be crap for properly cutting a cigar (more on that later). I buy stuff for a living, Buyer is actually my job title, so I know how this works. I start out looking at the shipping and deciding how much I’m willing to pay. In this case, the farther under $10 the better. Their starting offer for this item was $10.99, so my opening offer was $3. Continue reading

The Week’s Cigars: Flor de Gonzales, Cain F – Saturday July 17, 2010

Wednesday I grabbed a Flor de Gonzales 90 Miles Robusto. I had won a 5 pack of these in a contest on the My Cigar Ashes blog a while back and have been enjoying them here and there. These are really nice medium cigar that’s quite well made. I only have a couple left from the 5 pack and look forward to seeing how they age. I looked on the Flor de Gonzalez website and oddly couldn’t find a mention of this relatively new cigar. I’ll drop them a note to see what’s going on. Continue reading
